Competition and Tournaments

SABA Senior Competition

Glenelg Badminton Club has teams in all grades of SABA competition. You must become a member of the club to be eligible for inclusion in a team.

Currently C grade plays on Tuesday night, and A and B grade play on Wednesday night, all at Lockleys.

Junior Competition

Various junior competitions are run each year by the SA Badminton Association. Glenelg Badminton Club also arranges inter-club competitions with other local junior badminton clubs.

Teams Challenge Events

Each year Glenelg Badminton Club run two Team Challenge events where players are assigned to teams of 4 or 5 people and the teams are graded into 2 divisions. It is a social competition with lots of close games in a friendly environment. The events are usually run in February and July each year.

Club Championships

The Glenelg Badminton Club Championships are held every year in late August or early September on a Sunday. The senior open tournament and a junior tournament are held simultaneously.

The Social championships are held in October during the normal Monday club night.

  • MIXED DOUBLES – Winners: Meng Li Heng & Jamion Ou. Runner Ups: Queenie Yuen & Marco Liu.
